"Here we have the second full length of
percussive madness from Albuquerque's own drum prodigy Kris Kerby (@icumdrums). I was already a fan of his debut cassette "The Girdle" and had the pleasure of seeing him blow minds both solo and as member of the mighty #Tenderizor. This work only adds to his 'one man demolition crew’ repertoire, this time with higher end production values and several guests, such as #DaleCrover of #Melvins on this featured track ’Long Pig’, as well as #LilahRose and #MikeDay on other tracks. The two tracks with Rose on vocals almost have a dreamy/kraut rock atmosphere, while the tracks featuring Day approach harsh noise (rock) sonic ferocity. While the focus is obviously DRUMS, the release offers a variety of moods, structural and sonic approaches and never bores. It might be fair to describe this projects as ’drum'n'noise' - but there is more to the game as we have distinct, well structured songs here with intelligible vocal and instrumental parts. I feel this is a vital project that is best experienced live due to the sheer explosive energy of Kerby’s frenzied, thunderous drumming.
